Beer Batter Pancake Recipe

Beer Batter Pancake Recipe

Beer for breakfast anyone?

The tastiest day of the year is here once again and we've got the perfect pancake recipe for you.

How could you possibly make a pancake any greater, you ask? By throwing in some beer, of course... because beer makes everything ten times better!

This year we’re putting our stamp on Pancake Day by handcrafting some recipes so you can enjoy your favourite SEVEN BRO7HERS beers in a whole new light.

Let’s kick things off with an absolute sweet treat of a beer - our Honeycomb Pale. You’d think this beer was created purely for this recipe - it’s a match made in Heaven.

Honeycomb Pale Pancakes

A stack of pancakes with a can of honeycomb pale.

Ingredients:

  • 140g plain flour
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • ¾ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 250ml SEVEN BRO7HERS Honeycomb Pale
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

How to make your fluffy Honeycomb Pancakes:

Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

Wet Ingredients: In a separate large bowl, stir together Honeycomb Pale, egg, oil, and vanilla.

Mix: Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined (it’s okay if the batter is a little lumpy).

Cook: Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Pour batter into the pan, using about ¼ cup for each pancake. Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned. Serve warm with your favourite pancake toppings - we recommend a handful of berries and a scoop of ice cream with drizzle of honey to enhance the flavours. Don’t forget to wash it down with a glass of our delectable Honeycomb Pale!

Fancying something a little more indulgent?

Why not opt for our rich Chocolatey Pancakes using our delicious Satin Stout? The chocolate perfectly harmonises with the roast malt character of the stout - go on, treat yourself!

Satin Stout Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 140g plain flour
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 125ml buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 125ml SEVEN BRO7HERS Satin Stout
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter (plus additional butter for pan)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Chocolate chips of your choice

How to make your heavenly Satin Stout Pancakes:

Dry Ingredients: Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a large bowl. Whisk together until well combined.

Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, stir together the Satin Stout, buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.

Mix: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and fold in as much or as little of your favourite chocolate chips to give your pancakes that extra bit of luxury. Stir until just combined.

Cook: Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Drop about ¼ cup scoops on the hot pan. Allow to cook until the edges look dry and bubbles appear in the middle. Flip and continue to cook until cooked through, about 2 minutes per side. Serve with maple syrup, whipped cream, fresh berries, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Pour yourself a glass of silky smooth Satin Stout and ENJOY!
