At Seven Brothers Brewery, we believe that great beer is about more than just hops and barley. It’s about building a strong, connected community. That’s why we’re committed to giving back through our partnerships with incredible local charities. Each pint you enjoy helps us support causes that matter, and we couldn’t do it without you, our loyal beer lovers.
Within this blog we’d like to highlight a charity that is close to our heart, the MND association. This charity first came to our attention when Rob Burrows, ex-teammate of our brother Nathan, was diagnosed with the disease. It inspired us to make an exclusive beer in Rob’s honour called Road Runner, where proceeds of the sale of each can went to the charity.

In 2023 we received the devastating news that one of our own had been diagnosed with this terrible disease, and in October last year Eileen Wilson sadly, passed away. Eileen was our first head chef when we opened our first beerhouse in Ancoats, Manchester back in 2016, and she spearheaded the menu creations at our other beerhouses.
Eileen was the backbone of all thing’s food at Seven Brothers, and as we all got to know her, we realised that she was also a special person. Her character and love for other people were truly inspiring, and it wasn’t by chance that she was successful in every aspect of her life. Her smile and laugh are 2 things that come to my mind when I think of her. I cannot recall an occasion that I wasn’t greeted with her lovely smile. And her laugh was a joyous sound that was never too far behind.
It feels like a fire has been extinguished here at Seven Brothers but because of who she was and what she did, her light will never go out, and we are all infinitely better off to have known her. Since Eileen's passing our team members have successfully raised over £3,000 for The MND association.
Here's a look at some other inspiring organisations we're proud to partner with:
Tim Bacon Foundation
Pouring support onto people living with cancer
Since 2019, we have been working with the Tim Bacon Foundation, whose main aim is to support charities that help people to live well with cancer.
We teamed up with the TBF to create a bespoke beer, Good Day IPA, which is sold on our webshop and via wholesalers/direct to bars and restaurants. A portion of sales of every can sold is donated to the foundation, which directly supports cancer charities.
Tim Bacon was a renowned restauranteur in Manchester. The Tim Bacon Foundation celebrates Tim’s legacy within the hospitality sector, and his legendary generosity lives on through its work. We are proud to be part of such a special community working together to keep his memory alive.
Tim loved beer and we think he’d have loved a pint of Good Day IPA. With the support of our punters, this craft beer partnership has continued to raise money since it’s launch in 2019. It is great to support a charity close to our hearts at time where so many are facing great hardship.

Salford Lads Club
Brewing opportunities for at-risk youth
Young people are the future of our community, which is why we take great pride in partnering with Salford Lads Club.
Established in 1903 as a purpose-built club for boys, Salford Lads Club was the last and largest of 21 clubs in Greater Manchester aiming to provide positive alternatives to teenage street gangs, known as “scuttlers”, in the poorest areas of the city. The club's motto - ‘to brighten young people’s lives and make good citizens
Salford Lads Club has a very special place in our hearts, with our late father, Eric McAvoy and brother number 6, Kit being members. So we worked with them to create Salford Lads Club Helles Lager, where we donate £1.50 from each can sold to the club to continue their great work and celebrate its members and volunteers.

City of Trees
Cheers to protecting the planet
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, which is why we’re thrilled to support City Of Trees. This environmental organisation focuses on conservation efforts, tree planting initiatives, and promoting eco-friendly practices in our community.
The Trust's Motto – ‘We are City of Trees. We plant trees for people; trees to create better, greener places; to boost health and wellbeing; to enhance green skills; and to tackle the climate and biodiversity emergency.
We’re rooted here in Greater Manchester, the place we live and work. We are proud to call the region home and are passionate about making our region even better, one tree at a time.'
Last year, a number of our team from the brewery went along on a number of tree planting days with COT. They were a massive success for the environment and our team members, enabling them to get a day out of the office, contributing to good wellness practice.

Why it matters
We started our brewery with a vision of crafting beers that bring people together. By supporting these incredible charities, we’re taking that vision beyond our taproom and into the community. Every sip you take is part of a larger story - one of hope, opportunity, and a shared commitment to making a difference.
So next time you visit us, raise your glass to these fantastic organisations. Together, we can keep brewing positive change.
